I did a loop down by the Browns' stadium today. Wasn't planned out, but just felt like it would land me around the 2.5 mile mark I wanted to hit, and it did. The run felt good, one of my faster runs and my heart rate was down in the 160s, which is good for me right now, until a hill climb got me up to the 180s where I hung out until I finished.

The fall weather is coming around, the days are starting out in sweater weather territory but climbing into the high 60s. This feels like pretty much the perfect running weather, which is good timing for my training starting up again. I am worried about the winter coming - it will be hard to stay consistent when I may only be able to run on the treadmill.

I will try to invest in winter running gear to extend the amount of time I can run outside as much as possible. Eventually though, the trails around here become sheets of ice and I don't think I will have a choice.

In a turn of luck, a new lakefront trail has opened up in Cleveland, the Mandel Community Trail. It's only a couple of miles of new trails, but it connects me to the east side of Cleveland's lakefront and leads down to MLK Jr. Boulevard eventually, which is itself a really beautiful place to run. I think I will be able to knock out the entirety of my mileage on this route, and as my long runs go up every week(-ish), I'm getting to see a bit more of the trail every day. That's where my lunch runs were this week and I will likely continue to run down there - it's much quieter than the downtown area and less waiting around at stoplights.
