This was an easy run, the easiest two miles since I started up again. We got woken up by somebody doing burnouts outside our apartment around 3:30 AM, which has been an unfortunate theme of our new apartment. I had trouble getting back to sleep, so I snuck off to dork out on my computer for a little bit.

I then tried to time a run so I would catch the sunrise out on the pier. My timing was fine, but Cleveland did not cooperate. Fall is here and with it comes the gray Cleveland weather, which blocked out any hope of seeing a sunrise. The angle out at the pier might not have been the best anyways.

Keeping a slow pace came very easy this morning. In my last few runs, I've consistently come flying out of the gate and then slowed down. I think I stayed on pace for the two miles, and my heart rate leveled out in the 160s - still high, but I would be in the high 180s on my other runs. I hope, and am pretty certain, that my heart rate will come down over time.

I did cap off the run by opening up after I hit the 2 mile mark, not into a sprint but something more like an 8 minute pace. There was only a quarter of a mile or so of that, but that felt pretty good as well.

I've built in the ability to add photos to this run journal, but I haven't used it yet because I don't carry my phone with me. My plan is to get something - either a vest or a fanny pack - that I can carry my phone in and snap some pictures whenever I see something interesting.
